The Dubai Metro, now and next.

Two metro lines and a tram run today. The Blue Line is being built for September 2029, the underground Gold Line is approved for September 2032, and a metro link between the city's two airports is in design. Below: every line and station, the dates that matter, and what the new lines change for the neighbourhoods they reach.

Drawing the network…

Tick lines and places on or off; zoom in for station, road and community names; hover or tap a station for its lines and former names. Your choices and map position stay in this browser only. Coastline, roads, land use, community boundaries and the operating and under-construction lines come from OpenStreetMap. Gold Line sites follow Time Out Dubai’s reading of RTA’s 2032 map, and the Airport Express route is indicative — both are drawn dashed or dotted, and approximate stations carry a dashed ring.

Fully underground, up to 40 m deep. RTA expects about 465,000 riders a day by 2040, serving around 1.5 million residents and 55 major developments. RTA has shown the route on its 2032 network map but not the exact station sites: the order here follows Time Out Dubai's reading of that map (15 September 2026), so positions on our map are approximate.

What it means for neighbourhoods

Where the new lines change daily life.

2029: the Blue Line reaches the east

Dubai Creek Harbour, Festival City, Ras Al Khor, International City, Mirdif, Al Warqa'a, Silicon Oasis and Academic City get their first metro station. Creek Harbour gains the most — a direct ride to the Green Line at Creek and the Red Line at Centrepoint.

2032: the Gold Line runs through the new south

Satwa, City Walk, District One, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai Hills, the Global Village and Miracle Garden area, JVC and Dubai Production City join the network, with an Etihad Rail interchange at Meydan. For JVC and Dubai Hills — today car-dependent — it is the larger change of the two.

Now: intercity rail from Al Yalayis

Jumeirah Golf Estates, Al Furjan and the Expo corridor already sit beside Dubai's first Etihad Rail station, about an hour from Abu Dhabi's MBZ City.

What a line does to prices depends on walking distance to the station, the date it opens and how much of the uplift is already in the asking price. Ask us about a specific building and we'll tell you how far it really is from the platform.
